Step One: Breaking It Down
The athlete meets with Suzy Shuster to discuss individual goals -- clarity of context, clearer answers to questions or even better grammar usage. Suzy will review any television or radio appearances a player has made and break down the content of those interviews. She will guide the player on how to answer questions more effectively and help him or her to steer the direction of the interview that best suits the athlete's interest.
Step Two: Game Plan
Like any good coach, Suzy will craft a game plan for the athlete to create a more sophisticated and savvy appearance. She will conduct mock-interviews with players, be it in a post-game scenario, a one-on-one on-field/court chat, a sit down expose or investigative style. In these recorded sessions, athletes begin to recognize how properly answered questions can change not only their public perception, but within the corporate world as well. The media is always drawn to athletes known to be “good interviews,” and with media attention comes the requisite opportunities in the world of public speaking and commercial work. In these sessions, an ASPIRE MEDIA athlete will learn how to avoid getting themselves into precarious situations with the media through incorrectly answered questions or long-winded replies. By being prepared for every type of question, an ASPIRE MEDIA athlete is NEVER caught off guard.
Step Three: Prep Work
Depending on an athlete’s needs, Suzy will prepare assignments to help the player improve his or her interviewing skills. These may consist of texts to read out loud in front of a mirror or into a microphone for Suzy to review. ASPIRE MEDIA is a life changing opportunity for athletes. From the very first meeting, they will immediately see changes in their relationship with the media and how they are portrayed by it, because they will be in CONTROL of that portrayal from the inside out. This, in essence, is the goal of ASPIRE MEDIA.
